As with my earlier post on
Stamps & FDCs, while networking with other swappers/traders to get more postcards for my collection, I discovered that many people like to collect fridge magnets. More astoundingly, was the vast varieties of these items. There were magnets made of wood, metal, plastic, resin (the most popular material) and a combination of all. There were people who collected all types of magnets from different countries, while some people preferred only certain types, such as flip flop shaped magnets, or map magnets, or plate magnets etc. I found it all an amazing new world of possibilities.
Below are some of the popular local magnets that I've since exchanged with people for postcards. Based on cost, I had set the going rate of these magnets at 4 postcards = 1 magnet. Will post some more photos in another blog.
