Unfortunately, I have to admit that I have not had much time lately to dedicate to my postcard collection: sorting, swapping, etc. However, I decided to do a serious count of how many postcards I have, both from private swaps as well as official postcrossing postcards.
Drum roll...
Total Postcards......1310!
Total Countries......71!
Wow! I did not expect that at all!
I realized that when I first started collecting postcards, my focus was more on quantity and later on, as my passion for it grew, so did my desire for only certain types of postcards. I still love all kinds of postcards but if I can have my choice, I especially love multiview postcards, recipe/food postcards, map/flag/coat of arms postcards, lighthouse and windmill postcards, waterfall postcards and postcards showing interesting places or things. I still have both blank postcards and written and stamped postcards in my collection, so in that regard, I am not too fussy.
Ooh, I almost forgot to mention this great tidbit. Last month, I finally made my way up and now rank #1 in Trinidad and Tobago in postcrossing. It's such a shame really. According to the website, Trinidad and Tobago is a country with a population of 1,228,691 habitants and yet there are only 38 active users (although admittedly, it seems like a lot less!) Hopefully, one of these days when I have some more spare time, I'll think of a way to become a postcrossing ambassador and then maybe more Trinis will participate.
