The Ruins of Fort Abercromby
A short distance from Las Cuevas Beach is the ruins of Fort Abercromby. I had read some time earlier that plans were underway to rehabilitate this site in the hopes of boosting employment in the area and developing another tourist destination. I like this idea because I believe in preserving a part of history for future generations to enjoy. The site itself now as it stands has only 2 rustied canons but what is worthwhile, is the climb up 100+ steps to breathtaking views of the ocean. I would love to visit again when the steps have been fixed, safety railings installed and public washrooms added.
